The Angel and the Octopus

This work was created in response to the construction and energy of the Sydney Olympics.

The drawings have began as direct studies of construction scenes at Homebush and in the city. The paintings followed to explore aspects of the internal, as consciousness itself unfolded before us prior to and during that 17 day period.

The internal and external can never be divided and exploring this relationship has become my main concern. It so happened that the Olympics offered an immediate and grand scale to oppertunity to do so.
